Andrews Liver Salts for relief from a range of different types of indigestion.  For those who are suffering with an upset stomach or indigestion use Andrews Liver Salts which will aid the fast relieve of indigestion, excess acid, upset stomach, constipation. Andrews revitalises your digestive system fast and there is up to 45 doses. Contains three active ingredients: magnesium sulphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and citric acid. Magnesium sulphate acts as a laxative by increasing the amount of water in your intestines. Sodium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid work together as an antacid, neutralising stomach acid and relieving indigestion or an upset stomach. 

Sodium bicarbonate exerts an immediate antacid effect in the stomach by neutralising acid secretion with the liberation of carbon dioxide. Citric acid and sodium bicarbonate in solution have a buffering capacity which alleviates discomfort caused by excess acidity in the stomach. Magnesium sulphate is not readily absorbed from the intestine and acts as a saline purgative. Magnesium ions in the gut have also been shown to cause secretion of cholecystokinin which favours intraluminal accumulation of water and electrolytes. Check before you take this medicine if you need a laxative dose every day or you have persistent abdominal pain (tummy ache).
Do not use after the expiry date (EXP) which refers to the last day of that month. Check inner seal is intact before first use. You may experience diarrhoea if you consume too much. If this occurs you should stop using or reduce the dose which should relieve the symptoms.

  • Dosage

    Adults: For upset stomach, indigestion and over-indulgence,measure one or two level teaspoonful into a glass of water and drink
    For constipation, measure two level teaspoonful into a glass of water and drink. Take before breakfast or at bedtime.
    Children aged 6 years and over: Use half the adult dose.

  • Ingredients

    Sodium Hydrogen Carobonate 22.6% w/w, Citric Acid 19.5% w/w and Magnesium Sulphate Dihydrate 17.4% w/w.
    Other ingredients: Sucrose 40.5% w/w, Carbohydrate content: 2g per 5ml teaspoon.
