Discount Medicines (www.discountmedicines.ie) is a registered pharmacy on the Internet Supply List of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) is a public body established in law to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public by regulating pharmacists and pharmacies in Ireland.
As the pharmacy regulator the PSI set the standard for pharmacists’ education and training in Ireland and create the standards and supports to promote good professional practice in pharmacy. We register pharmacists, pharmaceutical assistants and pharmacies, carry out inspections of pharmacies, and take action when there is a concern about a pharmacist or a pharmacy, including when we receive a complaint from a member of the public.
The PSI is an independent body and an agency of the Department of Health. We are governed by a 21 member Council, with each of the members appointed by the Minister for Health.
Anyone who wishes to sell non-prescription medicines over the internet in Ireland must register with the PSI and have their name listed on the approved Internet Supply List. Those websites must also display the EU common logo on every web page that offers non-prescription medicines for sale.
Only pharmacy websites displaying the EU Common Logo (shown at the bottom of the page) are permitted to sell pharmacy medicines online in Europe, and you can confirm by clicking on it that Discount Pharmacy is registered on the Internet Supply List of the PSI and are permitted to use the Common Logo.
Discount Medicines will retain a record of each online transaction for 2 years.
