Anusol Ointment provides effective, soothing relief from the pain and discomfort associated with haemorrhoids (piles), itching, fissures and other related anal conditions. Contains ingredients that soothe and protect raw areas, help reduce swelling, prevent bacterial growth and can promote healing. Provides extra protection for dry, sore skin. Relieves discomfort associated with minor ano-rectal conditions through antiseptic, astringent and emollient properties.

Anusol Ointment provides antiseptic, astringent and emollient properties which help to relieve discomfort associated with minor ano-rectal conditions. Bismuth Oxide is weakly astringent with supposed antiseptic properties and has a protective action on mucous membranes and raw surfaces. Zinc Oxide is an astringent and mild antiseptic and probably owes its actions to the ability of the zinc ion to precipitate protein but other mechanisms may be involved. Zinc Oxide is also used to absorb skin moisture and decrease friction and discourage growth of certain bacteria. Balsam Peru has a very mild antiseptic action by virtue of its content of cinnamic and benzoic acids. It is believed to promote the growth of epithelial cells.

Anusol ointment is thicker and is good for relieving the symptoms of sore, dry skin. Anusol cream is thinner which means some people find it easier to rub in.

Symptoms of haemorrhoids include:

  • An itchy bottom
  • Bright red blood on the toilet paper or in the toilet bowl
  • Pain and discomfort around your anus
  • Mucous or Slime on your underwear or toilet paper
Not recommended for children. If symptoms persist or worsen, patients should be instructed to stop use and consult a physician.
Patients with rectal bleeding or blood in the stool should talk to their doctor before using this product as these conditions may be the symptom of a more serious underlying disorder.
Do not use more than 4 times a day. Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days.

  • Directions

    Apply to the affected area at night, in the morning and after each bowel movement. For internal conditions use the rectal nozzle provided, remove the nozzle cap and clean the nozzle after each use. Should be applied on a gauze dressing.
