Hand Creams - Developed with dermatologists for dry rough and cracked hands.  Gentle on skin and provide 24 hour hydration.  The formula featuring hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and three essential ceramides. CeraVe fragrance-free hand cream also contains dimethicone, a skin protectant, and its non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula helps restore and maintain smooth, soft skin.  CeraVe hand creams are Fragrance-free and hypoallergenic.

Moisturising Lotion - Facial moisturizers are great for providing your skin with hydration, soothing and smoothing they help to maintain  the skin's barrier and retain moisture.  All CeraVe face cream and face lotion products are formulated with ceramides to help restore the skin’s barrier, which helps your skin to retain moisture and keep irritants out.  The CeraVe range offers moisturising creams with ceramides are fragrance free.  The range also features products which utilise the patented MVE Delivery Technology to release a steady stream of moisturizing ingredients throughout the day and night.

The CeraVe range contain Ceramides, here is an explanation of what they are and how they work:

What are Ceramides? - Ceramides are a class of fatty acids called lipids.  These lipids are naturally found in skin cells and make up about around half of the outer layer of skin (epidermis).   Ceramides are essentially the glue that holds our skin cells together to keep our skin barrier intact and healthy. A healthy skin barrier helps seal in moisture and seal out impurities

How do Ceramides work? - Ceramides help by creating  a barrier to prevent permeability.  This in turn helps to lock moisture into your skin, preventing dryness, irritation and may also protect against environmental damage.

What benefits can Ceramides bring? - Products containing ceramides may help to supplement those lost by your skin over time.  Some products may reduce the appearance of aging.  Fine lines and wrinkles can be more noticeable when you skin is dry.  Locking in the skin's moisture may minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Why is the correct type of packaging important? - The best anti-ageing ingredients are often not stable. This means that their effectiveness reduces when exposed to light and air, similar to what happens when you open a jar. Therefore it’s better to use opaque tubes or bottles or airtight pumps. These will help ingredients to perform at their best.

What is Hyaluronic Acid? - Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule found naturally in our own bodies, lubricating our joints, nerves, eyes, skin and hair. As we get older our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid which is one of the reasons our skin starts to wrinkle and sag.
